From acclaimed director Niki Caro (Whale Rider ) and based on Elizabeth Knox’s award winning novel, The Vintner’s Luck is the passionate tale of Sobran Jodeau (Jérémie Renier, Atonement ), a peasant winemaker and his life-long pursuit of the perfect vintage.

1808, France – young Sobran’s luck is irreversibly changed when he encounters Xas, an angel whom he strikes up an unlikely but enduring friendship. Driven by what he thinks is divine inspiration, Sobran’s wines start to win favour and he strikes up a partnership with the proudly independent Baroness Aurora de Valday (Vera Farmiga, Up in the Air).

As life goes on, Xas guides Sobran to create a wine that will be a culmination of all of life’s pleasures and pain.
