Idaho Wine film Synopsis:
The Idaho winemaking tale is ripe and ready for picking. Way out West a handshake and a person’s word still carry a lot of weight. A common saying around here is, “Do what you say you’re gonna do.” That motto resonates with many Idaho businesses and the people working in them. Idaho is a state full of hard working, ethical, loyal and honest people living and enjoying life to the fullest.
This movie is about so much more than tasty grape beverages. It’s about a culture and a code of living. It’s about entrepreneurs working to carve out a niche and provide enjoyment to their community. It’s about soil and climate. It’s about terroir.
”The biggest problem we have right now in Idaho is that we need more good grapes in the ground. Wanna buy a vineyard and plant some grapes?” – Moya Dolsby Shatz, Idaho Wine Commission Executive Director.
The film’s objective is to not only promote local business, but to increase economic viability and to highlight Idaho’s vineyards and wineries on a national stage. This film explores from bud to tastebud–including how well the Idaho culinary arts pair with its local wine. It highlights the past and fruitful future, as well as educates and explores modern agricultural, specifically viticultural, practices by seamlessly blending the voices of those whose lives are impacted by the Idaho wine industry.
The term “terroir” has such deep meaning in Idaho. We hope after watching the film you’re inspired to visit, taste and come to love Idaho wines and their dedicated craftsmen as much as we do.
