Runtime : 35 mins
Released : 2023
Film Synopsis:
The result of a year in Champagne, ‘(RE)CRAFT,’ the film by Yann Arthus-Bertrand and his co-director Jéremy Frey, presents an artistic and committed vision of the challenges that the production of champagne must overcome.
The 30-minute film brings viewers a first-hand look at the world of champagne as they meet experts and all those who play a role in crafting champagne, from oenologists and winemakers to the cellar master and cellar workers. It offers a moving tribute to the unique character and history of Champagne, to the distinctive terroir, and to its remarkable savoir-faire.
“With my film, I wanted to draw attention to the issues of climate change and its impact on agriculture in France. The harvests taking place in late August instead of October are a striking example of this. The artisans who work the land, and all those involved in champagne production are direct witnesses to these changes,” says Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
