Saint Amour

Laugh along with this hilarious father-and-son duo in the 2016 French film Saint Amour as they hit the wine trails of the French countryside.

Runtime: 101 mins
Released: 2016
French with English subtitle

Film Synopsis:
Gérard Depardieu takes Benoît Poelvoorde on a grand wine-tasting trip in this road comedy from director duo Benoît Delépine and Gustave de Kervern.

Every year, Bruno (Poelvoorde) does the wine trail… without setting foot outside the Paris Agricultural Show! But this year, his father Jean (Depardieu), who has come to present his champion bull in the hope of winning the competition, suddenly decides to take Bruno on a real wine trail in a bid to become closer to his son.
They raise their glasses in Saint-Amour accompanied by Mike (Vincent Lacoste), a young taxi driver unexpectedly taken along for the ride. First-rate wine, romantic entanglements, picturesque surroundings, and the warmth of family combine to make this the road trip of a lifetime.

« Saint Amour is outrageous and highly ridiculous: with their big physical comedy and sight gags Kervern and Delépine are sometimes like Tati without the childlike innocence. What they have instead is a childlike – or childish – air of guilt. Their film is very silly and very funny. Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian »
